Overview
The new President of the Mercy Medical Center Foundation will lead a team of fundraising professionals, be an active member of the executive leadership team of Mercy Medical Center and will serve as a key stakeholder representing the organization in the community. The ideal candidate will provide strategic, inspirational and influential leadership and direction, proven accountability, a thoughtful approach, and sound judgment and objectivity. Further, they must demonstrate their ability to build and maintain relationships through their active involvement in the community.
Operational and Strategic Leadership:
- Serve as a member of the Mercy Medical Center Executive Team and provide strategic leadership in partnership with executive colleagues.
- Cultivate a strong working relationship with the Foundation Board, ensuring transparency, accountability, and open communication in the presentation and measurement of financial and fundraising goals and outcomes.
- Faithfully represent the Foundation and Mercy Medical Center by consistently living The Mercy Touch®.
- Develop and strengthen successful relationships with donors, prospects, physicians, leaders and staff at all levels and across diverse demographic groups.
Foundation Management:
- Lead the Foundation team in the development and execution of strategic and annual plans with measurable goals for campaigns, annual giving, major gifts, planned gifts, corporate and foundation relations, stewardship, new donor pipelines, and advancement services.
- Hire, train, motivate, supervise, coach and guide direct reports and the entire Foundation team toward accountable, goal-oriented outcomes.
- Formulate and administer the annual Foundation budget and ensure proper management and usage of philanthropic funds. Manage the internal grant process closely with Finance and individual departments.
Overview
The Catholic Foundation in the Archdiocese of Dubuque (CFAD) is seeking a full-time Outreach Coordinator/Manager to join our growing mission-driven team in Cedar Rapids. This position will play a pivotal role in implementing marketing communications and supporting planned giving and fundraising initiatives to grow awareness and engagement. CFAD is dedicated to advancing the mission of the Catholic Church through stewardship and endowment-building for the faith and Works of Mercy in the 30 NE Iowa counties.
Overview
The Sr. Development Director advances the mission of St. Luke’s Foundation by increasing the level of involvement and philanthropic support from donors and prospects. Reports to the President of St. Luke’s Foundation and supervises three fundraising team members. Works collaboratively with Foundation staff, the Foundation board and internal/external constituents. Opportunity for advancement. Position responsibilities include managing a portfolio of 175 gift prospects through identification, cultivation and solicitation of unrestricted and restricted gifts that may be planned or current. Plan and execute strategies to market planned gift vehicles, utilizing Foundation programs and planned giving seminars. Provide oversight and assist with planning of the Koehler Legacy Society’s annual event. Solicits gift of $5,000 and above modeling a moves management strategy to build a major gifts program. Also lead/manage major capital campaigns.

The Director of Development must have a passion for the mission of St. Luke’s Foundation by increasing the level of involvement and philanthropic support from donors and prospects. Will work with the Foundation’s team with special responsibilities for planning and implementing a program to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors with the ability to make major annual gifts, special project gifts and planned gifts directed to the mission of UnityPoint Health. The director’s success is dependent on the ability to build new and foster existing relationships. Reports to the President of St. Luke’s Foundation and works collaboratively with Foundation staff, Foundation Board, and internal/external constituents.

The Eastern Iowa Planned Giving Council is seeking knowledgeable and experienced professionals to serve as Mentors. This role involves supporting emerging members of the council in their development of planned giving strategies and practices. The mentor provides advice, shares expertise, and offers insights on best practices in philanthropy, estate planning, and charitable giving in professions such as fundraising, financial planning, charitable giving law and taxes, and others. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping shape the next generation of planned giving professionals.
